The Dolman Travel Book Award, Britain’s only prize for narrative travel books, is rebranded today and its value doubled to £5,000.
From now on it will be known as the Stanford Dolman Travel Book of the Year. It will be the centre piece of a new scheme run by Stanfords bookshop, the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards, which will start this year with a prize for an “outstanding contribution to travel writing” and be developed to honour other forms of travel writing in print and online.
