Pico Iyer has spent half a century travelling the world. He is, as the title of one of his books has it, “A Global Soul”. But in The New York Times he’s been writing about “an invitation to a very foreign country, a film set”. He made his acting debut in the hit movie Marty Supreme, playing Timothée Chalamet’s Nemesis at the ping-pong table.
