Following the news this week that the British Library has acquired the archive of Ronald Blythe, that revered chronicler of rural life best known for Akenfield, the literary magazine Slightly Foxed is reminding readers that Blythe figures in its own archive. In Episode 45 of the Slightly Foxed podcast, Ronald Blythe: A Life Well Written, Blythe’s fellow writers and friends, Julia Blackburn and his biographer Ian Collins, “lead us down the rough-hewn track to the ancient yeoman’s cottage he inherited from the artist John Nash and into the nooks and crannies of his world, tracing a life well lived and well written”.
