In a piece on the Magnum agency’s site, the photographer Alex Webb discusses his book Dislocations (one of my favourite picture books of 2023). It was, he says, a project in which he “specifically embraced photographs that reflect the strangeness of the world on all levels — visual, emotional, psychological, socio-political, and cultural”.
Webb and his partner, Rebecca Norris Webb, will be hosting a talk at the Magnum Foundation in New York on January 29. They will discuss the process of working collaboratively on books and exhibitions, as well as individually on their own projects, including Dislocations and Norris Webb’s recent book, Night Calls.
