Hannah Kent wins £5,000 Ilse Schwepcke Prize

At the Frankfurt Book Fair this evening, the Australian writer Hannah Kent was named the winner of the Ilse Schwepcke Prize, an award of £5,000 for travel writing by a woman in English, for her love letter to Iceland, Always Home, Always Homesick (Picador). The winner of the sister prize, Der Ilse Schwepcke Preis, for a book in German, is Marianne Jungmaier for Kontinentaldrift (Continental Drift).
