Christobel Kent (best known for her series about the Florentine detective Sandro Cellini) set her latest book in the Essex marshes. On Work in Progress, website of her American publisher Farrar, Straus and Giroux, she explains why it took her 15 years to return in her writing to the place where she grew up.
