Nan Shepherd Prize goes to Alycia Pirmohamed

The Nan Shepherd Prize “for underrepresented voices in nature writing” was awarded this week to Alicia Pirmohamed, a Canadian-born poet based in Scotland, for A Beautiful and Vital Place“an urgent, captivating collection of essays about homelands, identity, and the resonances between our bodies and the landscapes we inhabit”. She receives a £10,000 publishing contract with Canongate and an offer of literary representation from Caro Clarke at Portobello Literary.
