Sailing in the sea where philosophy began

Adam Nicolson’s subjects have included history and literature, landscape and the sea (Sea Room; Life Between the Tides). His latest book is How to Be: Life Lessons From the Early Greeks. In a piece for The New York Times, he tells how a few days sailing in the Aegean started to change his mind “about the fundamental nature of things”.
