Today is publication day for The Afghans (Virago, £25), a book that the Norwegian journalist Åsne Seierstad describes as less of a sequel and “more a stepbrother or a cousin” to her bestseller The Bookseller of Kabul. She talked about it in The Observer at the weekend to Tim Adams.
