‘True Detective’ and the real Carcosa

In the excellent Oxford American magazine, Anne Gisleson explores Fort Macomb in Louisiana, a “hobbit hole” (as her eight-year-old calls it) that has served for film-makers as underground passage, fort, cavern, catacomb, dungeon and as the mythical “Carcosa” in season 1 of the series True Detective.
