The long lists were published this morning for the 2023 Wainwright Prize, which is celebrating its 10th year and has awards in three categories: for nature writing, for writing on conservation, and for writing for children on both nature and conservation. Women writers dominate all three categories — for the first time in the prize’s history, according to The Bookseller. In the conservation category, titles include Elixir by Kapka Kassabova and Fen, Bog and Swamp by Annie Proulx.
