Horatio Clare, winner of the 2015 Stanford Dolman Travel Book of the Year award for Down to the Sea in Ships, has followed that book with Orison for a Curlew, in which he travels in search of the slender-billed curlew, a bird thought by many to be extinct. The publisher is Little Toller Books, an imprint dedicated to works by writers and artists exploring and celebrating landscape. On its website, The Clearing, Clare talks about the new book, migration, birds, and travel writing.
