Transatlantic travels with Iain Sinclair

There’s a revealing Q&A with Iain Sinclair, master in his own words of “digging into where you are”, in today’s Guardian Review. Though born in Wales, he has spent half a century making London his literary turf. Recently, though, he felt that he had written his way into a black hole. In his new book, American Smoke, he sought “a sense of freedom and anarchy and energy” by reconnecting with his heroes, the Beats, on the other side of the pond.
